There is good news from Geely, a customer of A123.GE MHEV succeeded in the Beijing-Shanghai Extreme Challenge to travel 1200km using only a single tank of gasoline.
We take tremendous pride in the exciting news. It is reported that the leading domestic OEM is able to achieve 15% fuel savings as a result of A123’s competitive Ultra Phosphate battery. This product is one of the core products of the 48V Micro Hybrid system which helped Geely succeed in the challenge.
A123’s world-renowned 48V Micro Hybrid system uses the patented Ultra Phosphate technology which greatly increases the battery’s performance through cycle life, safety and a higher power density that reaches 5900w/kg. The passive cooling design allows the small battery to easily be integrated into the vehicle. Currently, A123 has received multiple orders worldwide with some reaching mass production status. It is estimated that 500,000 products will be delivered by 2020.
Due to environmental regulations all over the world and especially in China, the development and need for energy vehicles has increased. A123 is a world leader in the development and manufacturing of lithium-ion powered batteries for these vehicles and has been developing and promoting its high power ratio in the 48V Micro Hybrid systemand NMC batteries that offer a high degree of safety.
